Ahmet Savaşan, President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council and members of the Board of Directors visited Tuğrul Türkeş, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey for Cyprus Affairs.

 

Cyprus Health Tourism Council President Ahmet Savaşan and Board Members visited Tuğrul Türkeş, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey in charge of Cyprus Affairs.

During the meeting held at the Çankaya Mansion, it was stated that the ongoing Health Tourism activities in Northern Cyprus and the steps that can be taken to develop this field and increase the domestic value added in the country were discussed. President Savaşan was accompanied by members of the board of directors, President of the Association of Free Working Physicians Dr. Remzi Gardiyanoğlu, KITSAB President Orhan Tolun and Attorney Özkul Özyiğit.

 

Savaşan: “Turkey's support is decisive for the development of Health Tourism”

During the meeting, Savaşan explained that Northern Cyprus has an important potential in terms of health tourism with its geographical location, historical, touristic and humanitarian features, high-comfort hospitals consisting of smart buildings, specialist physicians using up-to-date information, qualified hospitals and clinics whose number is increasing day by day with their international accreditations, as well as climatic conditions and price advantages with the characteristics sought by third age tourists.

Emphasizing that it is of vital importance to encourage this field without discriminating between the public and private sectors as in Turkey, Savaşan said, “We believe that Health Tourism can achieve a sustainable structure by extending the incentives provided in Turkey to the TRNC under your leadership and with the support of our competent authorities in our country. The support of Turkey in this sense is of decisive importance.”.

Türkeş: “Health Tourism is good for TRNC”

In his speech at the reception, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister for Cyprus Affairs Tuğrul Türkeş said that he believes that Health Tourism is a good project for the TRNC and pointed out that the development of Health Tourism is extremely important for the increase of added value in the TRNC. Türkeş finally added that Turkey will stand by its brothers and sisters living in the TRNC from now on as it did yesterday.

During the visit, Tuğrul Türkeş was also presented with the symbolic door of the house in Nicosia Walled City where his father, the late Alparslan Türkeş, was born.
